This paper explores the relationship between the characteristics of the doctoral training and the recruitment of young PhDs in the private sector in France. We used information from a national representative survey of 1246 PhDs graduated in 2001 and interviewed in 2004. We focus on the recruitment and PhD returns among research-based jobs and non-research jobs in the private sector. Our econometrics results show that access and wages in the R&D jobs strongly depends on previous labour experience during the PhD (participation in a research contract, private funding for the PhD). Despite the fact that fake degrees have been used since the creation of legitimate diplomas, the fake degrees business is reaching epidemic proportions, notably because of globalization, new information and communication technologies and “diploma race”. This article deals with gender differences in Italian universities in the last 20 years in terms of career advancements. Data are taken from the MUR (Ministry of University and Research) archive. In Italy, career advancements are still much easier for men, even if the gender gap has slowly narrowed in the last decades. The article presents the field of study German in Law and Economy leaded by the Institute of German Philology at the University of Opole. Based on the results of a survey, the paper illustrates students’ and alumni’ views and opinions about the study program. The presented feedback could serve as an instrument of evaluation and as a mean of a creative cooperation between academic centers and the local enterprises. Both of the sectors have an important task: to contribute to a sustainable development of the region.

This article examines how Finnish universities and other higher education institutes have responded to the challenges posed by rapid changes in the world of work and societies all over Europe, particularly with reference to the development of generic skills. The data were collected by means of individual and group interviews at three Finnish higher education institutes, including two universities and one university of applied sciences. Entrepreneurial universities: A bibliometric analysis within the business and management domains

Abstract This study presents a bibliometric analysis of scientific publications investigating entrepreneurial universities in the business and management fields. The authors collected 511 documents from the Web of Science and analysed them using Bibliometrix, an RStudio package for performance analysis and science mapping. The study aims to provide an overview of the evolution of research about this topic and describe the structures (i.e., conceptual, social, and intellectual) characterising it.
